Kailua AYSO Volunteers Needed

There is a lot of time and effort required to run Kailua-Waimanalo AYSO and we are very grateful for all of our volunteers. There are so many ways to help: Coaches, Referees, Linespersons (ARs), Special Events, Field Maintenance, VIP Program, Picture Day, Registration, Board Members, and more.

Kailua-Waimanalo AYSO needs your help! For information about Volunteer Opportunities, email our Regional Commissioner at [email protected]. Please remember that we are an all volunteer organization.

Volunteer Registration

In order to protect our children, all our volunteers must annually complete an AYSO National Volunteer Application Form and undergo a background check.  AYSO has switched to all electronic registration for volunteers.   This must be done each year you volunteer.  The background check is conducted by the AYSO National Office. Individuals who do not pass the screening may be excluded or restricted from volunteering in our program.

Note: all volunteers must now register via Kailua-Waimanalo AYSO's  Blue Sombrero web site.

Please click on the following link for instruction on how to
register as a volunteer on Blue Sombrero.

Volunteer Registration

Please print out the completed Volunteer form and mail ONE (1) SIGNED copy with a copy of a valid picture ID (that has your signature on it) to:
CVPA - Kailua AYSO
P.O. Box 911
Kailua, HI 96734

Upon completion of the registration process, you will receive an email confirmation with your AYSO ID number.  You will need this number to take the Safe Haven certification at AYSOU.org (see “Safe Haven Certification” below)

Please contact our CVPA at [email protected] if you have any questions or problem

Safe Haven Certification:
Once you have your AYSO ID number, all volunteers need to complete the AYSO Safe Haven Course. This is a fundamental course for our volunteers and is mandatory. The course is available online at AYSO at AYSOU.org and takes approximately 60 minutes to complete. When you have successfully completed the course exam, print out a copy of the course certificate for your records. This course needs to be taken only once.

Coaches and Assistant Coaches Certification:
All Coaches and Assistant Coaches must also complete the Coach Certification Courses for the age division they will be coaching. For the 6U through 10U age divisions, there are on-line classes available at AYSOU.org

however, these alone cannot be used to meet the certification requirement. The field class must also be taken to fulfill the certification requirement. The 12U, Intermediate (14U) and Advanced (16U and older) courses must be completed by attending a scheduled course. These involve both classroom and field training by an AYSO Certified Coach Instructor.

Referee Certification:
All Referees must also complete the Basic Referee course. The first half of the basic referee course is available online at AYSO .org.
However, this will not be enough to be certified as a referee. The classroom session must also be taken to fulfill the requirements to be a referee

Thanks for volunteering! If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please contact our CVPA at [email protected].
